"World of Color – ONE" Set for Six-Week Refurbishment at Disney California Adventure Park

Disney California Adventure Park is preparing to temporarily close its beloved nighttime spectacular, “World of Color – ONE,” for a six-week refurbishment. This dazzling show, which has captivated audiences with its mesmerizing combination of water, light, and animation, will take its final bow on Sunday, September 8, 2024.

Six-Week Closure Begins September 9, 2024

Starting Monday, September 9, 2024, “World of Color – ONE” will go dark as crews begin work to refresh the show. This closure will last until October 22, 2024. Fans of the show have until September 8 to catch the final performances before the hiatus.

The refurbishment is expected to pave the way for the return of “World of Color – Season of Light,” a holiday-themed version of the show that has become a seasonal favorite at the park. Disney enthusiasts and visitors alike are eagerly anticipating the return of this festive version in fall 2024.

A Spectacular Show with a Rich History

Since its debut in January 2023, “World of Color – ONE” has offered park-goers a breathtaking experience, projecting beloved characters from Pixar’s “Inside Out” onto a mist screen, all set against a backdrop of colorful water sprays and the iconic ferris wheel of Paradise Bay. The show quickly became a must-see attraction, drawing large crowds for its 9 p.m. and 10:15 p.m. performances.

In June 2024, the show was further enhanced with the addition of a new pre-show titled “Emotional Rollercoaster,” inspired by the Pixar film “Inside Out 2.” This update added a fresh element to the performance, keeping it current with Disney’s latest releases.

What to Expect After the Refurbishment

While specific details about the upcoming refurbishment have not been released, it is widely speculated that the updates will enhance the overall experience for guests. This may include technological upgrades to the water and light projections, ensuring that the show remains a cutting-edge spectacle.

The return of “World of Color – ONE” is eagerly awaited by fans, who have made the show a staple of their Disney California Adventure experience. For those planning a visit during the refurbishment period, it’s worth keeping an eye out for announcements regarding any special events or temporary shows that may fill the void.

As Disney prepares to usher in the holiday season with “World of Color – Season of Light,” the anticipation is building for what promises to be another magical chapter in the park’s storied history of nighttime entertainment. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a seasoned Disney fan, “World of Color – ONE” remains a highlight of the park’s offerings—so be sure to catch it before it goes on its brief hiatus this September.
