Disneyland’s highly anticipated attraction, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, is nearing the final stages of construction as new design elements and finishing touches are being added. Set to open on November 15, 2024, the ride is already generating excitement among fans of the beloved Princess and the Frog film.
Construction Progress Highlights
Visitors walking past the construction site at Disneyland this week noticed several updates, including new trees, flowers, and vibrant stained glass details. The once-brown building, which formerly housed Splash Mountain, has been transformed into a lively yellow and green structure, reflecting the vibrant spirit of New Orleans. The brown construction fence surrounding the site still bears posters for “Tiana’s Foods,” hinting at what’s to come.
As scaffolding comes down around the main entrance, the charm of Tiana’s world begins to take shape. New light fixtures, as well as a green metal structure adorned with yellow flowers, have been installed. A delicate pink stained glass water lily also graces the iron bars above the entrance, adding a touch of elegance to the setting.
A Closer Look at the Attraction’s Design
The exterior of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is starting to reflect the 1920s aesthetic seen in Princess and the Frog. This theme is further enhanced by the installation of new speakers in the ride’s queue, ensuring that guests are fully immersed in the magical atmosphere from the moment they step inside.
In addition to the aesthetic upgrades, practical elements are also coming together. Work on the Millhouse section of the ride is complete, featuring new roofing and green moss details. This area now sports a purple banner, matching the design of its counterpart at Florida’s Magic Kingdom. Around the back of the attraction, purple and green framing has been added, alongside new stonework on the building’s right side, creating an authentic bayou atmosphere.
Bayou Country Takes Over Critter Country
As part of the transformation, Disneyland’s Critter Country has been renamed Bayou Country. This land will feature themed shops such as Louis’ Critter Club and Ray’s Berets, with a nod to characters from the film. Meanwhile, the existing Hungry Bear Restaurant will be reimagined as the Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree, adding to the immersive experience for visitors.
With Disneyland park passes for November 15 already sold out, excitement continues to build for the grand opening of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. In the meantime, eager fans can get a sneak peek by checking out the full POV of the ride at Magic Kingdom, offering a glimpse of the thrilling adventure to come.
