Disneyland may soon raise its ticket prices once again, continuing a trend of annual increases during the month of October. As the park gears up for its 70th anniversary in 2025, many visitors are anticipating another price hike. Historically, these price adjustments have occurred mid-October, and predictions suggest this year will follow suit.
According to MiceChat, Disneyland has been raising its ticket prices like clockwork each October. Forecasts from Mickey Visit, a site dedicated to planning theme park vacations, suggest the increase could occur between October 8 and October 16.
Historical Trends in Disneyland Ticket Prices
Over the past five years, Disneyland’s price hikes have gradually shifted from early in the calendar year to the fall, largely influenced by the COVID-19 pandemic. Notable price increases were observed on the following dates:
- January 6, 2019
- February 11, 2020
- October 25, 2021
- October 11, 2022
- October 11, 2023
Each year, the highest-priced one-day, one-park ticket has steadily climbed. In 2019, the cost was $149. By 2023, that price had risen to $194. Increases typically range from $6 to $15 per year, with the average hike falling between 5% and 8%.
Interestingly, despite the consistent upward trend, Disneyland’s lowest-priced one-day, single-park ticket has remained at $104 since 2019.
When to Expect Disneyland’s 2024 Price Hike
Experts at Mickey Visit predict that this year’s price adjustment could land on either October 8, 9, 15, or 16. Given that Disneyland’s last two increases occurred on October 11—on a Tuesday in 2022 and a Wednesday in 2023—there’s a strong chance this year’s hike may also fall around that time. In 2024, October 11 lands on a Friday.
To soften the blow of the expected increase, Disneyland often launches a discount promotion shortly before announcing the hike. Gavin Doyle, founder of Mickey Visit, noted that if a discount appears in the coming weeks, it could serve as a clear signal that the price increase is just around the corner.
How to Save on Disneyland Tickets Before Prices Go Up
For those planning to visit Disneyland or Disney California Adventure in the coming months, purchasing tickets before the price hike could lead to substantial savings. With the winter holidays approaching and the park’s 70th-anniversary celebration in 2025 on the horizon, locking in current ticket prices is a wise move for visitors.
As Disneyland continues to evolve and expand, its ticket prices have reflected this growth. In 2000, the cost of a Disneyland ticket was just $43. Fast forward to 2023, and that price now ranges between $104 and $194, depending on the tier. With the next increase expected soon, the trend shows no signs of slowing down.
