Orlando, Fla. – New updates to Disney’s Disability Accessibility Services (DAS) have been implemented as of Monday.

According to Disney’s website, DAS is designed to support guests who, due to developmental disabilities like autism or similar conditions, cannot wait in a traditional queue for extended periods.

DAS does not grant immediate access to attractions. Instead, it allows guests to request a return time for a specific experience, similar to the current standby wait time.

Key points regarding DAS:

  • The guest for whom DAS is requested must be present during registration and must experience the attraction when using a DAS return time.
  • The new update limits the DAS party size to immediate family members or a maximum of four guests.
  • Starting May 20, DAS in-person registration will no longer be available at Walt Disney World guest relations locations. Guests must now register via live video chat with a Cast Member up to 30 days before their park visit. During this process, the guest with a disability (or a parent/guardian) will participate in determining eligibility.
  • Once registered and inside the park, guests can request their first return time.
  • DAS is valid for the length of the ticket or up to 120 days, whichever is shorter. After this period, guests need to re-register for the service.

Disney’s website also notes, “If it is determined that any of the statements a Guest made in the process of obtaining DAS are not true, the Guest will be permanently barred from entering Walt Disney World Resort and the Disneyland Resort. Any previously purchased Annual Passes, Magic Key passes, tickets, and other park products and services will be forfeited and not refunded.”
