Disneyland’s June Crowd Levels

If you’re planning a visit to Disneyland in June 2024, you’ll want to know what to expect in terms of crowd levels. Fortunately, I’ve got you covered with a comprehensive update based on my recent visit on Saturday, June 15th, 2024.

As I entered the park, I was immediately struck by the surprisingly low wait times for many of the attractions. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, for instance, had a posted wait time of only 35 minutes, which is relatively short for this thrilling coaster during peak seasons.

Moving on to the iconic Pirates of the Caribbean, the wait time was a mere 25 minutes, and the queue wasn’t even spilling onto the bridge. This was a pleasant surprise, considering how popular this attraction usually is.

Unexpected Crowd Levels at Tomorrowland and Galaxy’s Edge

One of the highlights of my visit was exploring Tomorrowland and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. These lands are typically crowded, but on this particular day, they felt remarkably open and spacious.

As I approached Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blasters, I was astonished to find the queue completely empty at around 1 p.m. – a time when this ride would usually have a wait time of 45 to 55 minutes during busier seasons.

Star Tours was posted at a relatively short 35-minute wait, and even the iconic Space Mountain had a surprisingly low wait time of just 45 minutes. This is unheard of for a Saturday afternoon in June!

Exploring Adventureland and Frontierland Crowd Levels

Adventureland and Frontierland are often considered choke points at Disneyland, with crowds congregating around attractions like Indiana Jones Adventure and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. However, during my visit, these lands were surprisingly manageable.

Indiana Jones Adventure had a posted wait time of 45 minutes, which is impressive considering the ride’s popularity and thrill factor. Even better, they weren’t using the outdoor queue, which is a clear indication of relatively low crowd levels.

Fantasy Land and Toontown: Hidden Gems for Crowd-Avoidance

While exploring Fantasy Land and Toontown, I stumbled upon some hidden gems that offered respite from the crowds. These areas are often overlooked by visitors, but they provided a delightful escape during my visit.

The walkway to Toontown from Fantasyland wasn’t congested at all, when compared to other parts of the park.

One standout attraction was Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride, where the queue was practically non-existent. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the wait time posted at a mere 15 minutes – a rarity for this beloved dark ride.

Similarly, Snow White’s Enchanted Wish and Pinocchio’s Daring Journey had surprisingly short wait times, making them ideal choices for families with young children or those seeking a break from the busier areas of the park.

Insider Tips for Navigating Crowds at Disneyland all Summer

While the crowd levels during my visit were generally manageable, there are always ways to optimize your experience and avoid the busiest areas. Here are some insider tips to keep in mind:

  1. Explore alternative pathways: Instead of taking the main walkways, consider exploring the less-traveled routes. For instance, the area behind Frontierland and the path between Fantasy Land and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge are often less crowded.
  2. Utilize Genie+: Disneyland’s virtual queuing system, Genie+, can help you skip the standby lines for popular attractions. Plan ahead and secure your reservations early.
  3. Arrive early or stay late: Crowd levels tend to be lower in the early morning hours and later in the evening. Consider taking advantage of these times to experience popular rides with shorter wait times.
  4. Monitor ride closures: If a major attraction like Rise of the Resistance goes down, be prepared for overflow crowds at other rides like Smugglers Run. Stay flexible and adjust your plans accordingly.
  5. Check the park calendar: Keep an eye on the Disneyland park calendar and plan your visit during less crowded times, such as non-peak seasons or weekdays.

By following these insider tips and staying informed about crowd levels, you can maximize your enjoyment and create lasting memories at the Happiest Place on Earth.

The Magic of Disneyland Awaits

Disneyland is a place where dreams come true, and with the right planning and knowledge, you can experience the magic without the stress of overwhelming crowds. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a seasoned Disney enthusiast, the park offers countless opportunities for adventure, wonder, and unforgettable moments.

As you plan your Disneyland adventure for June 2024, remember to stay flexible, embrace the unexpected, and savor every moment. From the thrilling attractions to the whimsical lands, each experience at Disneyland is a cherished memory in the making.
