Disneyland’s Monorail Nose Cone Seating Returns After 4-Year Hiatus

The Disneyland Monorail is bringing back a fan-favorite experience that has been absent for over four years. Visitors can once again enjoy a ride in the nose cone section of the Monorail, which offers a unique perspective on one of the park’s most iconic attractions.

A Fresh Perspective on the Monorail Journey

The nose cone seating, located at the very front of the Monorail alongside the driver, returned to service after Disneyland’s monthlong refurbishment of the attraction. This exciting feature was unavailable since the Anaheim theme park’s closure in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. According to WDW News Today, the nose cone seating reopened over the weekend, providing guests with a new way to experience the 13-minute, 2.5-mile round-trip journey.

With the return of this option, passengers can now sit in the front of the Monorail, where they get a close-up view of the ride’s control panel. The panel includes live camera feeds that show the Monorail’s exterior, offering an even more immersive experience. Riders will also enjoy the added perk of chatting with the Monorail pilot, who answers questions and shares insights during the trip.

Nose Cone Seating in the Disneyland Monorail
For the first time since before the COVID-19 pandemic closed theme parks for an extended period, guests can ride in the front seats of the Disneyland Monorail. No Special Queue for Front Seats

There is no separate line for the nose cone seating. According to WDW News Today, guests who wish to sit in the front section are encouraged to ask cast members about waiting for the next available ride if the seats are full. This makes it easier for visitors to plan their experience without needing to navigate a special queue for the coveted front row.

The Monorail’s journey connects Tomorrowland to Downtown Disney, providing scenic views of the park’s landmarks along the way. Although the back cabin of the Monorail remains closed to passengers, the return of the nose cone option is a welcome enhancement for those seeking a different vantage point during their visit.

A Long-Awaited Return

The Monorail nose cone seating is more than just a seat—it’s an iconic part of the Disneyland experience. Its return after a four-year pause marks an exciting moment for both long-time fans and new visitors. The Monorail itself is one of the longest rides at Disneyland, and the chance to sit up front makes the trip even more memorable.

With this unique feature back in action, the Disneyland Monorail is once again offering passengers an up-close look at the magic of the park from a whole new angle. Visitors are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity for a special ride through the heart of Disneyland’s vibrant and imaginative world.
