Disneyland has taken a major step toward its ambitious future by purchasing a massive 400,000-square-foot warehouse in Anaheim for $124 million. Previously leased by the theme park, this facility on Cerritos Avenue will now serve as a dedicated storage space for parade floats, seasonal decorations, and other operational needs.
The purchase aligns with Disneyland’s $1.9 billion DisneylandForward expansion, a long-term project set to transform the 500-acre resort district over the next four decades. The move also allows the park to repurpose backstage areas for new attractions featuring Marvel, Pixar, and Disney favorites.
Marvel, Coco, and Avatar Attractions Incoming
Exciting additions are on the horizon as Disneyland continues to reshape its parks. Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure is set to double in size with two new attractions: Avengers Infinity Defense and Stark Flight Lab. While no official opening dates have been announced, these attractions are expected to debut between 2026 and 2027.
In 2026, construction will begin on Disneyland’s first-ever Coco-themed ride. This attraction will take visitors on a vibrant musical journey to the Land of the Dead, bringing Miguel’s world from the beloved 2017 Pixar film to life.
An Avatar-themed land inspired by The Way of Water is also in development. This new experience will immerse guests in the vast oceans of Pandora, offering an entirely fresh take on James Cameron’s sci-fi universe. The opening date remains uncertain but is unlikely to arrive before 2028 or 2029.
A Vision for the Future of Disneyland
Beyond these confirmed projects, DisneylandForward hints at even more possibilities. Potential future expansions could introduce lands inspired by Tangled, Frozen, Peter Pan, Zootopia, Encanto, Toy Story, Black Panther, and Tron. While none of these have been officially announced, their inclusion in the proposal signals Disneyland’s long-term vision for growth.
In the meantime, changes are already underway. The recent closure of the Timon parking lot and the temporary halt of the Red Car Trolley make way for the Avengers Campus expansion. This realignment underscores Disneyland’s strategy of shifting backstage operations off-site to maximize park space.
The warehouse acquisition is the largest industrial real estate transaction in Orange County over the past eight months, according to the Orange County Business Journal. With this strategic move, Disneyland is clearing the path for a future filled with thrilling attractions and immersive experiences for generations to come.
